Banned Books and More
WE CELEBRATE BANNED BOOKS ALL YEAR, BUT ESPECIALLY DURING BANNED BOOKS WEEK!
This year, from October 1-7, 2023, we are celebrating Banned Books. Our goal is to help educate readers on what it means to be on a Banned Book list, make it easier to find the titles and share other cool merchandise with you!
To make it easier for you to find the Banned Books, we've compiled a Wish List of Banned Books. This list begins with titles from the Top 100 Most Banned Books of All Time, the Most Banned Books 2022 and 2023 and then the Most Banned Children's Books. (The Wish List is a great way to list a lot of books. You can create your own wish lists and share them with family and friends.)

Both of our window displays are dedicated to Banned Books, so please stop by in the next few weeks.
Finally, we wanted to let you know more about the books in our windows, on our tables and the ones found on these lists. So, please see the following note.
These books have been challenged in a school, a library, a district, a state, or a country, at one time.
This does NOT mean that the books are currently banned. It simply means that they qualify for the banned book list due to their history.
There are a variety of reasons that books are challenged: language, adult content, violence, sexual content, and many are challenged for a specific age group only.
These are great reads for book clubs, family discussions and expanding your TBR pile!
We support the freedom to read because we’re with the banned!
